What is Spond?
Spond is a free communication and events app made for community clubs like ours. Think of it as the club’s noticeboard, calendar, roster and payment desk. All rolled into one place on your phone.
Instead of chasing information across emails, text messages and Facebook, everything from Mount Martha Life Saving Club now comes to you through Spond. You choose what you want to hear about, and you can reply, RSVP or pay in a couple of taps.

Why the club uses Spond
We’re a volunteer-run club. Spond was chosen to make communication easier for everyone and to reduce the load on our volunteers.

- You stay in control. Fine-grained notification settings mean you only hear about the groups and events that matter to you.
- Built for clubs with children. Spond has safeguards designed for junior members, with parents and guardians managing everything for younger children.

Sign up to Spond
Choose the sign-up form that applies to you. Not sure which one? If you’re joining Nippers, use the Nippers form. For everything else, use the all-members form.

For patrolling members, volunteers, Icebergers, seniors, masters and general club members.

Getting started in 3 steps
Most members are up and running in under ten minutes once your sign-up has been approved.
Complete the club sign-up
Fill in the right sign-up form above so the club can add you to the correct groups.
Accept your invitation
Once your sign-up is processed, you'll get a Spond invitation by email or in the app. Open it and tap Accept to join your club groups.
Install the app
Search for “Spond” in the App Store or Google Play, or use the web version at spond.com/client. Installing the app gives you the best experience and control over notifications.
Safe for our junior members
Keeping children safe is a priority at Mount Martha Life Saving Club, and Spond is built with that in mind.
- Children under 15 don’t use the app themselves, a parent or guardian manages everything on their behalf.
- Messaging is restricted to protect young people, with built-in safeguards for appropriate, supervised communication.
- Age rules follow Spond’s own Terms of Use, aligned with our club’s Child Safety commitments.
