Beach Patrol Hours
Mount Martha beach is patrolled by qualified Lifesavers from November to April every year.
Flags go up for the off peak or ‘shoulder’ season starting November. Mount Martha beach is patrolled between 12pm to 5pm weekends and public holidays.
Peak season runs between December and January with the beach patrolled between 11am – 6pm weekends and public holidays.
The second shoulder season runs from February to April and the beach is patrolled 12pm to 5pm weekends and public holidays.
Where excessive heat is predicted, beaches may be patrolled on days outside of those mentioned above.
Look out for the flags in front of the Mount Martha Life Saving Club clubhouse. This is our base of operations and during patrolled hours you will always find the IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat), First Aiders (proficient in basic first aid including CPR and AED, and advanced resuscitation including oxygen) and the SSV (Side by Side Vehicle).
Patrollers will use the IRB and SSV to check North beach, South beach and the Pillars.
