Masters training takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 7.30pm during daylight savings. It is open to all MMLSC members over 25 years, no prior skills or experience required. A range of fitness and craft skills are catered for, from novices to elite competitors! You only need enthusiasm and a willingness to get wet as well as a desire to improve your fitness in a supportive environment.
Activities include running, swimming, flags, ski’s, board paddling, life saving skills and more.
We are lucky enough to have a coaching roster which allows us the opportunity to learn from many skilled members of our club but there is also flexibility to break off into groups and work on skills at your own pace too.
An opportunity exists for our Masters to compete at the Life Saving Victoria (LSV) State Championships on 7th-8th February 2026 at Point Leo SLSC which is always a great event. To compete you must have your Bronze medallion and be a patrolling member. You also need to have completed >16 hours of patrol in the prior calendar year (or >4 hours if it is your first year with your Bronze). If you would like more information or are interested in getting your Bronze medallion just fill in our EOI form here https://mmlsc.com.au/training-courses-eoi/. Patrolling is a wonderful way to gain some new valuable first aid skills, give back to the community and spend more time on our beautiful beach!
Later in the season, the Masters vs Seniors Challenge also generates some friendly rivalry with our under 25 team (with some helpful handicaps for us where needed!!).
Weekly dinners and various social get togethers are held during the season, as well as the End of Season social event.
We look forward to seeing new and familiar faces at the first Masters session on Wednesday 8th October for the 2025/26 season or come and see us at the Open Day for more information.
All Masters communication will be via Stack Team App, please download the App to your smart phone (for club members only) and search for Mount Martha Life Saving Club, here you can join the Masters Group, along with any other groups within the club. All the latest training and social information will be posted here.
Contact me at masters@mmlsc.com.au for more information.
See you on the beach!
